SUMMARY:Blue Gravel Mine Trail Walk
DESCRIPTION:Blue Gravel Mine Trail Walk \nSunday\, February 9\, 2025\, 10am-Noon \nSIGN UP HERE: https://forms.gle/oaeEJmqPMdumEHUe7 \nJoin SEA board member and naturalist Juliet Malik on an easy\, casual walk along the Blue Gravel Mine Trail in West Redding. This trail is accessible to most as it is paved with gentle slopes\, though there is a notable incline on the return trip. It meanders along a tributary of Canyon Creek and hosts abundant native plants and birds. Along with identifying some of these plants and keeping an eye out for some early spring growth\, we will explore the environmental history of this stretch of land that once held a city-owned gold mine. \nIf we walk the entire length of the trail and back it will be 3.5 miles round trip. Dogs on a leash are fine but please pick up after them. To join\, please sign up on this form. Once you sign up\, you will be emailed the meeting location. \nHeavy rain or high winds will cancel.
