DESCRIPTION:Lillian Nelson Nature Preserve Field Trip \nFriday\, May 10th at 8:30am \nRead directions below for meetup location! \n  \nPlease join us for a visit to Lillian Nelson Nature Preserve\, a privately owned 30-acre conservation easement managed by Shasta Land Trust. The Western Shasta RCD in partnership with Point Blue Conservation Science is currently implementing grant-funded restoration work. \n  \nProjects include invasive red sesbania removal from Boulder creek\, a small meadow restoration\, forest health and fuel reduction\, acorn planting\, brush pile habitat piles\, bird box installation and outdoor classroom maintenance. There will also be an opportunity to see beaver activity! \n  \nThe meeting place is on College View just below the hill going up to Bethel Church. We will have a cone that says “SEA” on it to make it clear where to turn! The property borders Bethel on the East. There is a Bethel gravel parking lot and a yellow COR easement gate for the meeting place. Parking is allowed in the Bethel gravel parking lot. The road is bumpy and rutted so vehicle clearance could be an issue. It is a short walk from the Bethel parking lot. There is no address for that location. Carpooling is recommended. The Hearth on Churn creek is the nearest familiar easily located business if a more simple meeting place is required. \n  \nPlease sign up on our Meetup site and fill out a 2024 liability waiver if you’ve not done so already!
